BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Buffalo is currently recruiting for a Business Development Officer to join our BD team. This role is designed to build relationships with potential and existing education charity clients, predominantly within the school sector. We support these schools by organising tailor-made fundraising campaigns aimed at contacting their alumni and parents, strengthening relationships and raising vital funds for specific projects including student support.

Buffalo is one of the leading fundraising consultancies in the UK with our core business being in the Education charity sector, alongside Arts & Culture and third sector charities. Your role as part of the Business Development Team would be to increase our school client base by strengthening the relationship we have with potential clients and maintaining regular contact with our existing clients.

Through off-site meetings, regular phone contact and conferences, you will have numerous opportunities to sell our fundraising products and services which in turn will help solve our client’s fundraising challenges. You will be responsible for keeping our CRM (SalesForce) up to date, as well as writing tailored proposals to our potential clients. Once the contract has been won, you’ll then ensure a smooth handover between yourself and the project delivery teams.

It would be preferable that you have previous sales experience although this is not essential; or you may be in a telephone based account management role and want to make the move into a position which offers you a different challenge. It is important that you are determined, hardworking and highly motivated. You must also be an excellent communicator and be confident and clear when speaking on the telephone. As you will be required to attend client meetings you must be presentable and confident when dealing with clients on a face to face basis, both in real life and over Zoom, including presenting to senior personnel within these organisations.

In return for your hard work we will offer a competitive starting salary of £20k-£22k per annum dependent on experience along with company benefits including 24 days holiday, flexible working hours, workplace pension, cycle to work scheme, regular staff social events and charity fundraisers.

We at Buffalo are passionate about diversity and inclusivity, and are striving to become a company which represents the diversity of the world as whole. We welcome applications from all and are an equal opportunities employer.
