GIVING DAY OFFICERS

Buffalo is looking for new herd members to join it’s growing Digital Fundraising Team! As one of the leading fundraising consultancies in the country, our core business is in the Education charity sector and with Arts charities. We are very well established in the world of telephone fundraising in these sectors, and over the last few years we have been successfully developing our Digital Fundraising products to compliment our existing services.

We are looking to recruit a Giving Day Officer to join us on our two and a half year graduate scheme. This can be offered in exactly the same format for non-graduates as a training programme. A Giving Day is a fun and exciting fundraising campaign allowing our clients to reach a wide range of their institution’s community within a short space of time with the use of social media and direct communication. A Buffalo Giving Day is project managed from start to finish by one of our Giving Day Officers, which is where you could come in!

As a Giving Day Officer you would be project managing each of your Giving Days throughout the process. The planning stage would involve regular liaison with the client, external parties and internal Buffalo teams so effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You would work very closely with your client to build their Giving Day website by sourcing text and images.

You should have strong IT skills as you will also work with your client’s data to make sure that it is in the best shape before their Giving Day takes place.

You would need to enjoy written communication as you would be responsible for drafting the email communication as well as coming up with a social media plan. Creativity will also be required as you would work with your client to come up with unique challenges and events for the day to encourage potential donors to give.

An intrinsic part of the role is to see it all come together on the Giving Day itself. This will be an extremely busy time so you must be happy to work under pressure. You might need to go onsite to assist your client on a face to face basis with the activities and events taking place, as well as ensuring that the emails and social media content are sent out at the correct time so flexibility is a must.

Following the Giving Day you will help your client to wrap everything up by ensuring that the correct information is imported back onto their database. You will finish the project by meeting your client to present them with your report of all of the processes that took part during the whole campaign.

This role is currently offered as a fixed term, two and a half year scheme which would see you run 16 Giving Days in total with the following proposed salary structure and completion bonus:

  • Training period – approx. 3-4 months – salary of £20,000

  • Salary rise to £22,000 after shadowing a GD and successfully being the key contact for another

  • After 8 Giving Days - salary rise to £24,500 and bonus payout of £1,500

  • After 12 Giving Days – salary rise to £25,500

  • After 16 Giving Days (completion of the scheme) - payout of the remaining £3,500 bonus

Our company benefits include 24 days holiday, flexible working hours, workplace pension, cycle to work scheme, regular staff social events and charity fundraisers and a friendly and welcoming team.

This is a fixed term scheme lasting approximately two and a half years, after which we will assist you with achieving your future career plans. You would also be in a good position to apply for a senior role with Buffalo, should one be available at the time.

We at Buffalo are passionate about diversity and inclusivity, and are striving to become a company which represents the diversity of the world as whole. We welcome applications from all and are an equal opportunities employer.
